Kampala, Uganda

Access Database consultant developer programmer kampala uganda

We have built Access databases for Hercules Chemical, Pepsi Bottling, the US Navy, the US Marines, the US Air Force and the US Army. All have operations throughout Africa.

We also travel extensively throughout Africa and have visited the cities of Nairobi, Mombassa and Addis Ababa and Stone Town.

We would love to work with you!

From Wikipedia: Kampala (UK: /kæm?p??l?/,[1][2] US: /k??m?-/)[1][3] is the capital and largest city of Uganda. The city is divided into five boroughs that oversee local planning: Kampala Central Division, Kawempe Division, Makindye Division, Nakawa Division, and Rubaga Division. Surrounding Kampala is the rapidly growing Wakiso District, whose population more than doubled between 2002 and 2014 and as of 2014 Wakiso was reported to stand at over 2 million.[4]

Kampala was named the 13th fastest growing city on the planet, with an annual population growth rate of 4.03 percent,[5] by City Mayors. Kampala has been ranked the best city to live in East Africa[6] ahead of Nairobi and Kigali by Mercer, a global development consulting agency based in New York City.

How Partnership Works

  • WSI Web Strategies
Subcontract build Access & Web applications to Pack & Ride and Vatex and a Soccer Association. We subcontracted to WSI Web Strategies to help their clients. Both are in Richmond, Virginia
  • Epitome Systems
Network Engineering Firm in Columbia, Maryland.

They subcontracted us to Fix an Access database for determining hospital emergency room time differentials for their client Bon Secours in Baltimore, MD.

This Access database was developed to track efficiency of the emergency room operation at Hospitals for Bon Secours. The various stages of a patient's visit are tracked and the minutes recorded for moving through each stage of the emergency room visit.

This database uses extensive Forms that have built to provide the quickest data entry possible for the user.
  • Strategic Technology Systems
Adam Mears, owner of STS contacted me to build an Access database for his client, The Snead Company, a commercial window supplier to the commercial construction industry.

This Access database is web enabled with a SQL Server back end. Additionally it interacts with Sharepoint, providing light document management services. The Snead Company creates proposals for their clients using this Access database and then tracks the progress of those proposals to winning status (or dead status).

Strategic Technology Systems is a full service IT company that provides consulting and support to their clients that need hardware, networks, servers, etc. running smoothly for their companies.
How we Build and Fix an Access Database

  • Dominion Partners
Dominion Partners desired an Access Guru to build an access database to manage their investment banking back office operations. They contracted us for this Access Database project.
  • Holiday Signs
Holiday Signs need an expert Access Database consultant to revise their Customer Relationship Manager application. This is an Access database that provides at-your-fingertip pipeline data to help both the salesmen and sales managers keep track of ongoing sales leads. Metrics come out of this database to help evaluate and improve sales performance.

We are also the PHP Developer and MySQL Consultant for Holiday signs. You may find more information about these services here: Data Bolt provides PHP and MySQL consulting
  • WestRock
Build Access database for Fortune 500 paper and packaging company. Database manages 1 Billion of Inventory
How Integration Works

  • Greystone
    Manufacturing Firm in Toano, Virginia.

We built a Quality tracking database that imports 1000s text files output from manufacturing machinery.

This microsoft access database reports defects during the manufacturing process for this automotive parts manufacturer

From Greystone website: Greystone is a global leader in the production of high volume precision machined and plated components for the automotive, aerospace, defense and industrial markets. Specializing in safety critical machining, hard chrome plating, and anodizing, we take pride in developing innovative engineering solutions to difficult problems.
  • Routt County Alcohol Council
The Council contacted us to upgrade their Access 97 database to the current version of Access. We have to first move the database into Access 2003, and then into Access 2019 (365). The was further complicated due to a workgroup information file protecting the Access 97 database and then advanced vba code that needed modification.

We are frustrated that Microsoft does not provide a transparent upgrade path from Access 97 directly to Access 365 (or whatever current version of Access is out today). We are further frustrated that Access discontinues support of features such as workgroup information files, pivot tables/report, Access Data Projects. So clients are forced to contact consultants like Data Control. We realize the importance of your database and the dilemma you are in. So we try to fairly price the upgrade to the new version of Access hoping that we can get future development work from you.

To get around the Workgroup Information File issue (the client had no documentation of this which is understandable considering the database is 20 years old and the original developer long gone), we opened a new Access 2003 database and imported all of the objects. This then allowed us to open the Access 2003 database in Access 2007 and perform the final upgrade steps.

This particular database uses advanced VBA code and expected the data file to be in a particular position on the server. If the data file wasn't there, the reports didn't work. So we searched through the code removing this requirement. We also had to modify a few of the libraries

Routt County Alcohol Board is a non-profit serving the city of Steam Boat in Colorado. Their database is a case management and reporting vehicle for their operations.
  • Selma's Cookies
This Access Database application also integrates with a barcode scanner and the FedEx software for creating shipping labels.

Selma Cookies is an Orlando Cookie Manufacturing whose largest client is Disney Corporation.

Selma found us on the internet about 10 years ago. We've been modifying and supporting her Access database since then.

This is a customer order management database that helps Selma keep track and fulfill Yahoo orders.

This database imports from Excel derived spreadsheets that are produced by Yahoo and stages these orders to fulfillment and shipping.

From Selma's website:In 1990, Selma Sayin began as a passionate baker whose secret recipes warmed the hearts and satisfied the sweet tooth of friends, clients and family.
